Happy New Year, darlings! I decided to start the year with a bangin’ hot outfit! And when I think ‘hot,’ pencil skirts and classic black pumps always come to mind. I’ve always loved pencil skirts. Whether you pair it with a blouse, a white button up shirt or a turtleneck, they always look so womanly and complement one’s curves like no other outfit. I find pencil skirts so versatile, they can be worn in the office, paired with a chic blouse for the evening or wear with flats and denim jacket for a more relaxed weekend look.
Aside from my coat and turtleneck shirt, everything else on this blog is pre-loved goodies from various Consignment Shops in Vancouver. With tags still attached on everything, I just could not say no to them. I don’t understand why people buy items and never wear them, I mean, I can’t wait to rip off the tag and wear whatever it is I’m buying! I might wear it once and then consign it, but I could never just ‘buy and not wear!’
Pencil skirts, turtlenecks and classic black pumps will withstand time no matter what the new hot trend is. If you have had a chance to read my ’30 some items that every woman in her thirties should have’ article then you’ll notice that so many items from this outfit are timeless pieces, because the older I get, the more I want to invest in pieces that will always be stylish and purchase clothes that look great on me, not on photos. Such as this red jacket which I fell in love with and adds the perfect punch to winter outfits.
Tell me, do you own a pencil skirt? If so, what are some other favourite items of clothing you like to pair it with?
